edoardo molinariTrophee Hassan II at the Golf du Palais Royal – Agadir, Morocco

It’s usually worth digging back through history to try and pick some profit out, but this week at the Trophee Hassan II tournament, it will be only the fourth edition of the event, hosted in Morocco. Looking for a top ten finish option, Spain’s Ignacio Garrido could be one worth riding this week as he has a bit of form and history in Rabat. The Spaniard played four solid rounds of golf here last season, carding 11-under par for a top ten finish, and when you combine that with a T3 finish in 2010, he makes a decent proposition. He posted a T28 at the shortened Maybank Malaysian Open last week, where again it was a steady hand more than a genuine threat of winning. If he tightens up his work off the tee, then he makes a good fit for a Top Ten Finish and value at 10/1 with Betfair.

As for an outright winner pick this week, both of the Molinari brothers will make firm cases to be backed this week. Francesco is the stronger player of the two and has posted top twenty finishes in both of his previous outings at the event. He has been quiet on the European Tour this season, his most notable outing a top ten at the Volvo Champions. Edoardo hasn’t shown any consistent form for most of 2013, but he was riding high last week and carded a T6 in his first Trophee Hassan II outing last season. Going in on the back of a confidence boosting solo second at the Maybank last week, should just shade favouritism towards him , while he is hot and could well peak.
